"Hope With Haiti"

Food Kit Collection

(Please note the packaging instructions below- these are instructions from the Conference Mission Office as of Tuesday 10/19/10)

Saint Luke UMC will have a trailer from MERCI to collect the Food Kits:

-Saturday January 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

-Sunday January 24th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The trailer will be located in the back parking lot.  Please bring your items and drop them off as you are coming to the UMW Mission Study, the "Stop Hunger Now" events on Saturday or the Sanford District Leadership Workshop on Sunday afternoon.   

Please watch for the details of other collection locations and times in the next couple of weeks.

Food Items - $12 Value

·         New, unopened & sealed bag of dried beans
·         New, unopened & sealed bag of rice
·         New, unopened cans of vegetables (any size with pop top lid)
·         New, unopened cans of fruits (any size with pop top lid)

We want to provide you with packing information for the food items:  

- Food can be boxed in containers with the weight being no more than 60 pounds. 

- If possible, please box items in “like” parcels, i.e., all bags of rice in one box, all canned goods in one box, all beans in one box. 

- Packed boxes should be no more than 60 pounds. 

- If you have already containerized your collected goods in another manner, it is fine..
